This one is just fun. I’m in love with this radio station. I listen to some of my favorite shows on my commute to work and it always something beautiful and powerful. This article is a survey of the ways that institutions like WWOZ which are never going to be mainstream, and will never make the money they deserve in their preservation of the best, and often strangest, of American culture.
It also goes to show how hard times are able to bring us together. I feel there are difficult times ahead for all of us. It may be a fight to survive for the challenges we face: a scarcity of resources, an uncertain future for our ability to eat, a large population, and unlimited wants. But, within all of it, I firmly believe in our ability to band together and overcome.
