Kevin Dewitt’s Moodboard and Writeup

Hello everyone my name is Kevin Dewitt and today i wanna talk a little bit about my mood board as well as my logo design. First off i wanna say i had a great time making this mood board. At first I saw this as challenging because I didn’t know where to start or what to do so let me take it from the top. The reason I chose the colors I did was because I wanted things to be bright. It attracts the eye level therefore you can control what is viewed. Being that I now have your attention this is where the images attached to the moodboard step up and helps me sell my services. We are designed as people to be creative so with that being said the yellows are bright and present a warm feeling when you come to be photographed. The chrome is added to pull your eyes in another direction and allows you to notice the contrast between the multiple colors. The black stands for excellence and allows the bright colors to be complemented rather nicely as a whole. The typography is legible and free from confusion so there aren’t any mistakes or miscommunication. My thought process on being able to explore different avenues shows that I don’t want ordinary. I want to go over and beyond and stand out from the others. My design of the logo shows a straight to the point look, Its minimum but allows you to understand exactly what I do and it shows confidence in the brand. I believe it is different from what you see in today’s market and that is how it was intended to be.

Kevin Dewitt’s Personal Brief

  1. What values or attributes would you want to explore that represent your brand?  I want to bring the brand’s ability to be top quality. As well as keeping a low price point and being able to reach out to new customers everyday through new connections.
  2. How would you describe your personality? I am very approachable. I love to listen to people’s opinions and have a debate if needed, I consider myself energetic. I operate a tshirt company since 2013 and having a positive mindset allows me to tackle all the issues that creative individuals have on a daily basis.
  3. What emotions do you want your personal brand to evoke in the audience?  I would like for the person to feel warm and fuzzy while using my products. My brand brings a nostalgic feel and look to a general target audience.
  4. Do you have any initial ideas or preferences for the logo’s visual style? Yes I do have a preference, I want the letters to be legible as readable by keeping it simple.
  5. Are there any specific symbols, icons, or imagery that should be included in the logo? No, keep it plain and simple so it can be viewed and understood from all ages.
  6. What colors do you envision for the logo? Are there any color preferences or associations? I enjoy working with black and white. But if i had to add color i would have 2 to 3 colors max.
  7. Besides the logo, what other visual elements (typography, patterns, etc.) would complement the personal brand? The ability to see a clean design with a vibrant color palette. As well as a relatable font that can be understood by all ages.
  8. Are there any individuals or brands that you admire or consider competition? I admire the Ralph Lauren brand and how each sub brand under the Polo umbrella they have is different and caters to different people.
  9. Do you have any examples of personal branding or logos that you find inspiring?  Again I like the whole Ralph Lauren design of the man on a horse. It fits polo perfectly and puts out the message of what the brand represents.
  10. Where will the personal brand and logo be primarily used? (e.g., social media profiles, website, business cards, presentations) It would be used for all the above with technology taking off at the rate it has. To stay in the race you need the right tools and all that was listed is a chunk of exposure needed to keep your business afloat.
