Branching Narrative (explanation):
Examples of Concept Maps and Narrative Text (in the form of walkthroughs):
Resurface – This is the entire Game Design Document (a pitch document) that a group did in Professor Cunningham and my CST 1102 ID class a few years ago. It has several things to look at: 1) the text for the game is complete and is a good model, and 2) their visual/concept map is also good and shows what one should look like.
Cinderella – Page 9 is a good but brief walkthrough example. Page 10 is their visual map.
Red – An excellent, complete story walkthrough with explanations about why the choices do what they do.
Aladdin – Pages 7-11 is their visual map. Their walkthrough (p.12- 19) not only explains the choices but has a screen shot of what the game itself would look like when it’s being played.
Red Riding Hood – This one is for the concept map only (p.10) but it’s really good.
