Cultural Fusion

In the US Holi is a celebrated festival of colors or the festival of love where people gather to play and mingle. Not only do you get to experience this festival but also about its culture, food and hand crafted.

It is an ancient religious Hindu festival celebrated at the end of winter season to mark the beginning of spring. It signifies the glory of good over evil. Holi is primary observed in India, Nepal and other countries with people of Hindu or Indian origins; these countries include Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Fiji and Pakistan.

Motion Blur

In this city; the city that never sleep, New York there’s always the hustle and the bustle. We are so busy in our own little world, going to work, school, exploring etc that we never really get to slow down and take in our surroundings. But what if everything were to be in slow motion? Have you ever wonder what life would be like? Yes like in the movies where they slow down a particular scene to give it a dramatic look and feel.

Hidden Treasures

Did you know there a bunch of caves in New York? Yes you heard right. Cave! If someone told me this a year ago, I would not have believed them. New York is like a hidden treasure that continuously awaits to be discovered and explored.

A few friends and myself explored a massive cave in the Mid-Hudson Region of Hudson Valley. The mouth of the cave is open into a dripping chamber. As you venture deeper into the cave, its temperature drops to about 40 degrees due to the frozen lake that’s situated.

Street View

As we know, New York City is one of the busiest city’s in the world. One of the main reasons tourist are attracted to this city is because of Times Square.

The best way to enjoy this city is by walking. Not only you get to see things at a better angle but also to get to the true feel of what it’s like to be a New Yorker.

For me I like street photography in the city. From the streaking vehicle lights, the 24/7 traffic to the hustle and bustle of the people.

Sunrise vs Sunset

There is something tranquilizing and breath taking about sunrise and sunset. It is soothing to ones soul. Some people may think they are some what cliche. However they will never be. Due to the fact that there is never a sunrise or sunset looks the  same. Everyday there is a dynamic range between them. Sometimes they range from a mixture of clouds and blue sky or no clouds at all.

The Suspension Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge, is one of the oldest suspension bridge in New York City. But most of all it’s one of the most famous bridges in the world. Which just happens to be one of my favorite Bridges. This Bridge, connects Manhattan and Brooklyn spanning over the East River. Whistle on the bridge there’s a beautiful view of the city’s skyline on either side of the bridge.

One Platform, Multiple Background. Diversion

Over the weekend my passion was combust by one of the biggest instameets; instagramers meet up, get creative and take pictures #WWIM “Worldwide Instameet.”

I’m always extremely overwhelmed by these meets. The diversity of people you meet sharing the same passion as you do is incredible. Though from many backgrounds, bonds are formed and you learn a lot from others.

In the same way the CUNY community brings together students with multiple background and experience. Diversity.

Rooftops

Fear is an unwanted emotion, that cannot be easily overcome. I have been battling with my fear of heights for as long as I can remember. But get this. I love traveling on planes. How ironic right?

New York City has some of the most amazing skyline views. The best way of seeing this is by aerial or rooftops. The view is phenomenal! It really is.

Over the past few months, I have been visiting rooftops with friends to experience this wonderful view and of course to capture its memory. My love and determination for photography has driven me in overcoming this fear.

The Forgotten

A rush of excitement flows through, every time I visit these lonesome alien world call abandoned places. As you explore, you tend to ask yourself the question. Who lived here? Where did they go? Left untouched for so many years. Peeling walls, molds and dark corners creates beautiful scenes to capture.

It’s truly amazing that, there are so many abandon places, like hospitals, schools, train stations and many others here in New York that you can easily explore. I often ask myself why have the owners abandoned this place? Why didn’t they demolish it? Or maybe they left it untouched and so people like myself and other photographers and urban explorers can explore and capture whatever memories that was left behind.

Long Exposure

Happy Tuesday guys!! I have one question for you. Has anyone heard of the term “Long Exposure?” For those who are not sure, I will give you a quick description. I promise not to bore you. Long exposure occurs when the shutter stays open for a certain amount of time. It freezes moments in an image. If there’s a person in the image, they can appear transparent or blurry. However this must be done using a tripod.

Below my pictures will reflect just that. Feel free to ask any questions.
