Completed Color Wheel

Took 3hrs to complete but I really needed to save paint for future work.
Took 3hrs to complete but I really needed to save paint for future work.

Reflection:

My first thought on this was honestly, “I have to use paint again”. I was sort of complaining to myself about using paint again, but I had to give in and accept the fact that I have to do this. I did enjoy mixing/experimenting the colors and feeling like I got he hang of it. My hands aren’t the most steadiest hands, which I find very annoying, but I try to not rush into it and try to stay a little neat. But you can find some parts on it that’s a bit messed up. Anyway, I’m just glad that I’ve finished the best I can. (I forgot to add the colors around the fish by the way.)

Reflection & Summary of the reading, “What If You Could Choose Between the Fastest Route and the Most Beautiful?”

Summary

In the reading, “What If You Could Choose Between the Fastest Route and the Most Beautiful”, from the Atlantic CityLab, tests out if people enjoy walking in a more beautiful, happy, & quieter route or a more shorter route. It states that the participants that volunteered this experiment was shown two pictures of the location of London, which was the “test city”, had to choose which was more beautiful, happy, or quiet. But the more of them that picked between the pictures, it was altogether a general agreement. Using that, they had to have judges that were familiar with London to test it out. But it was all depending on what the weather or time of day to walk on those routes (beautiful, happy, shortest, or quiet) and they simply took pictures of the route they were on instead of walking. So, that information proved that the photosharing site Flickr, owned by Yahoo!, was good alternative  for everybody.

Reflection

My Preference/alternative for a route that is not the shortest would be able to see more nature or greener scenery to make feel calm and peaceful. Seeing more in the route you choose would make the trip more interesting and not a waste of time. Make time for just a stroll somewhere that can make you feel lighter or stress free. I noticed that people love to see new, beautiful, historic things around them. It’s fun to watch actually. Anyway, I’ve been enjoying walking every since I was able to stand on my two little feels. I don’t care about how far or how long it would be for me to, but if someone was with me, they would be asking me questions over and over of where we’re going, how far is it, why do we have to walk so much, we can go this way. It’s annoying. Mostly throughout my life, I walked alone to places I want to clear my mind when I’m stressed or angry. Like walking around nature is the best and long route to do. You could be walking around in circles for hours and didn’t even know it because your just focusing on the surroundings than the time. It helped me with  my struggle with depression years ago (makes me show old even though I’m 19 years old) and it can helps others as well. I think I’m rambling.

Project#2 :Summary & Reflection

For Project#2, I had to write about the location I chose that was 15 minutes away from CityTech.  My location was on Court st. & State st. next to this old looking movie theater. I wrote about how interested I was in the area  for being a more relaxed and uplifting atmosphere. Even discussed the overlap/ juxtaposition cities from where I stood and the area I see from a far distance.

Summary

As we read the reading, “City Limits”, by Colson Whitehead, he writes about the overlap of different New Yorks. We had to find some different overlapping New Yorks ourselves. To walk anywhere that’s 15 to 20 minutes or more away from Citytech. Also look for New yorks that juxtaposition (example: old and new structures). Then we had to write an essay in 900-1200 words. In our essays, we needed to add our senses, hearing, smelling, and seeing and quotes from the reading, “Ciy limits”, to support the essay. But we had to prepare before jumping into the essay. We had to choose a location that is right to you and then chart our course to the location from Citytech. Needs to have more details than Google. Next, describe the location with much details as you can with the sights and about the juxtaposition. Then explain why you chose the location and try to add Whitehead’s quotes.

Finally, you can get started with the essay!

Reflection

This project has made me learn more about the area around Citytech/Brooklyn. I don’t live around the area or in Brooklyn in general but this help me realize that there’s so much more in Brooklyn never knew about that I never knew about. It was fun and interesting to see the new sites with someone and see more of the area than what I see from just a glance. I wanted to see everything in such little time. The area I chose as an example, to find the overlapping in this area was sort of difficult but intriguing as I kept looking for its juxtaposition. But as I read Whitehead’s words, most of his quotes really help me find it in the area and I had to look deeper into it. Anyway, I was mostly  proud of how I describe the movie theater and the court building because I thought I had a lot to say about them of course.

Total time on Project#2:

6 hrs I spent on the project altogether.

Field Trip Reflection

This trip made me learn so much about how books and printing began and was made. Having to look around the first & second exhibits we went to, I really felt the meaning from every artwork.  How the artists put so much work and feeling into them, makes my heart stop. Also to stand there in person, makes a total differences if we looked at it from a video or tv. I enjoyed this trip 🙂 I can’t wait for the other trips in the future! it was very interesting and made me think more about my work.

Reflection on Eng1101 Project#1

I thought this project was pretty fun and easy to complete because it’s mostly about myself. Writing about yourself is a very simple assignment but there’s a limit, so, there’s not a lot of rambling. Surprisly I learned more about myself as an artist and other’s passions. It was very interesting to read other’s drafts to know about them.

I was pretty proud of all of it. But I would say my bio is the one thing I’m sort proud of. It’s starts to make the reader know the a little important stuff about me. So the bio is a important starter point to me. Anyway, I thought the feedbacks/comments from my fellow classmates was really helpful because without that I wouldn’t know if my draft need Provements or if it was fine enough.

Honestly, I would say this project took me 3 or 4 hours in total to do everything. It wasn’t that hard but thinking about what to write about was the hard part. The outline of my draft actually took the most time to do because I didn’t know what to write about for 30 mins. Yep, for 30 mins. Writers block to its fullest.

For the next project will be sort of longer for me to complete. But I’ll try not to think about it as long it’s going to take me, but how well it’ll turn out.

Project #1 : Reflecting

As I read my comments was very relieved to see how my draft turned out pretty well. One of the comments made me smile the most when it read that it really made that person think more about their draft and try to approve their draft. I wanted the reader to know me and I did just that without rambling and going off topic. I wanted it to be clear for the readers. I’m glad that they enjoyed reading it. But I thought I needed to fix something’s. Oh well. I didn’t want this to be dull and uninteresting to anyone. I did a lot of writing in the past so I would say I can make it pretty eye-catching to the reader. I’m not trying to brag but it’s the truth.  Well, I’m glad and relieved from those positive and honest comments 🙂

Thanks!
