This is a street art campaign from 1989 created by Shepard Fairey featuring a famous wrestler Andre the giant. on the left-hand side, we can see his name and his title, and on the right-hand side his height and weight. Fairey referred to the campaign as “an experiment in phenomenology” at the time. The artwork has been widely utilized over time and in a variety of contexts.
This is a famous cover design of the former U.S. President Barak, Obama by Shepard Fairey in 2008 for his election campaign, this is an iconic design and is also known as the ‘hope’ poster. We can clearly see the similarity between these two designs, one of the reasons is that both of these designs are created by the same designer and another similarity is the use of a headshot photo. Obviously, Obama’s poster looks more organized and carefully color-graded because it was used in an election campaign whereas the other was street art. I believe the artist has also used the golden ratio technique in this poster and it grabs more attention as compared to the Andres poster.
