Description

The Slutty Vegan campaign emphasized the importance of visual enjoyment regarding food. Our eyes play a crucial role in our experience of taste. When we see food, our brains respond in a way that helps us taste it based on our expectations. Slutty Vegan is a plant-based restaurant with a reputation for its innovative and imaginative menu. With my partner Jia, we developed a campaign that included creating a creative strategy framework and designing a billboard, gatefold poster, and storyboards.

Reflection

City Tech has been a transformative experience for me in terms of being exposed to the business side of design. As creatives and designers, we often focus on the aesthetic aspects of our work and making things look attractive. However, studying to become a creative professional also involves solving client problems. Throughout the beginning of my career as a designer and illustrator, I focused on improving my skills, which involved spending countless hours practicing with software like Adobe Creative Suite and sketching to enhance my drawing abilities. However, advertising is more than just making things look good. It is a form of communication between a sponsor and a consumer.

Description

I want to showcase my cartoon illustrations and photography skills for my portfolio website. My work focuses on female cartoon portraits, fan art, and fashion. The homepage will be a gallery of my photographed illustrations. When the user hovers over or clicks on an image, the link will take them to a separate page that shows the step-by-step process and a video of the sketching process for that particular project. The website will also have an About Me page, and a Contact Me page in the navigation bar. The footer will contain links to my social media accounts.

Reflection

This project allowed me to showcase my work to a broader audience and attract new clients. A website is a great way to demonstrate my skills and portfolio, and it can also serve as a central hub for all of my design work. Additionally, having a website can establish my credibility as a designer and increase my professional presence online. It can also provide a platform for me to share my design process and ideas with others, potentially inspiring others and fostering connections within the design community. Overall, building a website can be a valuable tool for any designer looking to further their career and share their work with the world.

The Importance of Props – Fortune Teller’s Lair

I needed to create a character or tell a story using only props for this project. I chose to film a character in their natural habitat, creating a video of a fortune teller’s lair.
I used various props to tell the fortune teller’s story, including a crystal ball, tarot cards, candles, and other items found in a typical fortune teller’s lair. I used different lighting techniques, such as three-point lighting and light motivation, to create a mood and atmosphere for the video.
Overall, I had a lot of fun creating this video and used my creativity and imagination to bring the character and story to life using only props. I hope you enjoy watching the video and can immerse yourself in the world of the fortune teller.

Reflection

The process of creating this video was both challenging and rewarding. Using only the props at my disposal, I had to use my creativity and imagination to bring the character and story to life. Zodiac Collection Illustrations

Description

I used Procreate to create my own version of the twelve zodiac signs. My love for stickers inspired me to make them, and my goal was to learn how to use a Cricut machine to create a small business selling them. I found Procreate to be the perfect tool for creating the designs I had in mind.

Reflection

My sticker project was directly related to my career goal as a designer. I found making stickers on a Cricut Explore Air 2 to be both fun and fulfilling. I discovered that a Cricut machine was a valuable tool for illustrators, providing the precision and versatility needed to create high-quality designs. The device helped me to create precise cuts for my designs, making it easier to work with materials like vinyl and paper. It also saved me time and effort when creating stickers, labels, and other similar items.
