LiveWell Session II

When someone says “exercise”, I hear “gym or treadmill”.  Since for me it is associated with being uncomfortable, tired, and sore, I view myself as a “exercise hater”. I learned, however, that  gym  does not have to be the only depiction of what exercise is. Yoga or jogging between grocery aisles can be considered a workout as well! It is absolutely necessary for me to shift my mindset about what constitutes exercise. Once my image  of physical activity is different than the typical gym environment, I have a chance to become a “exercise lover”.  I successfully moved from the precontemplation to contemplation   stage in exercise!

Live Well Session 1- Holly Ye

I recently downloaded the app I used in high school to monitor what I eat and the amount of exercise I need to reach my goal weight. I’m glad that I lost weight from the last time I logged in but I don’t care about weight as long as I’m fit. My goal is to gain more muscle.

Live Well session 1 Daniel

The session was interesting. The questions were very helpful and basic on everyday obstacles that one endures.  I was placed in the “active” phase, quite simply because I started a diet on January 1st and my goal was to lose 22lbs by the 6th week which is the current week. Not precise, but close at 20lbs shed. Though working out and staying healthy was always an important part of my life, I really implemented it with more dedication at the start of the new year. Eating healthy has been a routine since I approached my 30th birthday, and anticipate on keeping the stride going. I will continue to see improvements in the current months and look forward to using Live Well as a guide. The mental part of the session was also interesting as stress is inevitable in our daily lives because we as human beings must face the daily challenges in our lives.

I usually try to make my daily 10,000 steps, but sometime I fall short.  I am working harder to stay on track and eat better.  I also enjoy my fitbit its a wonderful tool to track your steps, your water and food intake on a daily bases.  It also monitors your hours of sleep, I am a horrible sleeper between working, school and housework i get to bed really late to get up early the next morning. I know its not healthy there is not enough hours in the day for all that I do.  After  reading the articles and answering the questions, I will try my best to focused on staying health.

I don’t usually work out or exercise, but livewell made me think about my routine. For example I now i park my car little further from school so i can enjoy nice walk, pick up some apples on my way. I need to approach stressful situation in life from positive point of view.  I do realize that i cant be in control of everything, but can react in a way that will benefit me
