It’s amazing when people really don’t believe that one person can make a difference when they can. Alison Malmon really took a bad experience in her life and made her pain her fuel. She drove deeper into what really occurred as opposed to taking it the head and heart and possibly even being hard on herself for it. She took the positive out of it and made sure she made the world a better place as best as she could with what she knew. It is so important for us to speak to each other and those who care for us. We may think we are alone but we aren’t. There are people all around us living through the silence the way we are. Conversations starting may cancel the silence. It’s important to stay socially active and keep our minds intertwined with those around us.

Mental illness does not discriminate against ethnicity, men, women, educational background. It is a stigma that effect many students while pursuing a degree. Active minds have brought the awareness of mental illness college students experience as they voice and express their concerns about mental illness. It gives the student an opportunity to open up about their struggles with mental illness while at the same time it provides support to them. I am happy for such programs like active minds that provide resources to help students whilst it save lives also.
Active Minds is non-profit organization that focuses on the education the public on mental heath. It was orginanlly formed on the college campus of University of Pennsylvania but rapidly became a nationally reconized team dedicatied on informing others on issuses and measures to take for mental and physical wellness.
I belived this is a very benifitial program for those seeking help or those wishing to gain deeper insite on mental health issue that could effect themselves or someone they know for both understanding and prevention.
Active minds focused on whats not physically detected by the human eye. It shows the importance of mental health. It is a serious issue and shouldn’t be overlook. It shows that it is very present for college students. This is important information because we are all college students.
