I chose these two pictures because I think they both look unique compared to what other people would normally do with a project like this. I wanted to try if I could use some of the photography elements we learned early in the semester. So I placed the shades in front of the camera lens and I took another picture of myself behind my balcony door. I wanted to capture pictures with a kind of cinematic flair; almost like if my album has a hidden narrative.
I chose these two as my best because I like the way the sunlight was hitting my face and how bright it was in some areas. I also think the expressions in these pictures were better compared to the rest I have taken.
I think those two are the best out of the 20 pictures because in the first picture I like how you can slightly see my reflection from the window. In the second one, I like how half my face is blocked off by the curtain. Seems as if I’m emerging from the shadows. The lighting for both of the pictures is also good in my opinion.
The reason why I chose these 2 as the best ones of the 20 images is because I really like how light is captured on the portraits and how how it plays with some shadows as well bouncing off of my skin and shirt as well. I also love the atmosphere these two give off and how my glasses make some interesting reflections as well, especially the second image where there is some reflection as well. It was a hard pick, but I really think these are the best out of the 20 due to how they are and how very experimental as well.
