Hi! And welcome to our first day of class!

Due by 8/26 by end of day

Being an online student can be intimidating, confusing, and just plain difficult!

So for these first few days, you get to vent about it! No kidding. Share your concerns with each other. Maybe give each other some advice or just a good old bit of support. Believe me — online instructors have many of the same worries you do, even if we’ve been teaching online for a while. I also promise not to hijack the conversations, either! 🙂

Here’s what you’ll do (the schedule is at the bottom):

  • WRITE: a new post.  There are some instructions about how to do that in the post at the top of this page.
    • Start with one word that describes how you’re feeling about this course as we get started. No need to explain, but you can if you want to.
    • Talk about your worries, concerns, reactions to the readings and/or to being an online student… whatever you want to. No censoring… except keep it kind of clean, please ;-). And
    • Add a picture that means something to you, and explain why you chose it — why does it mean something to you?
  • Check back in and see what other people are saying, and reply  to a couple of people. It’s nice to know we’re not alone!

To future Student

Hey there, I see that this is your first class. Now don’t worry much because the teacher you got is the nicest teacher I have seen. You need help or any Question feel free to ask or email the professor. When first start this class you should try to contact your classmates asking if there is any group chat so that if you need help hopefully someone from that group chats to answer your question. It has been a great help having a class group chat for me and I do believe it’s gonna help you too. Now let’s come to the main point, I know you might be a little nervous but, hey it’s normal for most people. You should never be nervous even when you have lots of work left because nervousness will delay your work and take your energy away from you. Keep doing the homework and always try submitting on time and if you do that you can really feel enjoyment after ending the task and can enjoy the break. Stay strong and consistent.

shitty first draft

This year has been such a hard time, but it also was a blessing for some. It was a blessing that I didn’t have to travel every day for 2 hours for college. Through this time we have been doing our classes online and I would say it was a little hard for some us too, because for some people being physical and virtual is a huge difference. It was fun to finish the work in the first few weeks but later on, it all became hard and boring to do. But it was a necessary tool which we didn’t understand in the first.  Over time we have acquired some good writing skill. Now I don’t have to be much worried when it comes to writing about something.
