RBG OP-ED Analysis – Gentian Dumani

Main Idea: 

Ruth Bader Ginsburg talks about her experiences, challenges, and inspirations as a woman in law school trying to obtain a position as a Supreme Court Justice.

What’s the purpose?

The purpose of this article is to motivate the youth showing them they can accomplish anything with the right mindset and hard work.

Who’s the author?

The author of this article is Ruth Bader Ginsburg and in 1993 she was the first female Supreme Court Justice serving for 27 years. She was a big role model for younger girls around the world. She sadly passed away in september of 2020.

What’s the occasion?

Ginsburg wrote this article because of the great changes women have made in the justice system as time passed. She states that “more than one-third of our federal judges are women, including three of the justices seated on the United States Supreme court bench.” compared to the 3% women accounted for during 1956.
