Painting With Light – Joel Fuller

IMG_4002This was my favorite image from my groups shots because of the concept. It’s taken as the person in the image can’t handle his thoughts or whats happening around him.

To get the shot, we put the model in a short chair and had two people create the motion by painting with the lights behind the subject.

Electric shock

IMG_7426

I really liked this picture because it looks as if she was hanging up side done on the jungle gym.Her hair is flowing straight up making it look as if she’s saying she’s free.I think the fact that she shows no emotion really works here her body says it all.

Freezing Motion

IMG_3731

For this image, I like the angle, the expression of her.  she looks happy.  From this picture, I can see her hair is moving, also her foot is moving too.  When I took this freezing motion, she is continuing to jump, and I took a lot of  photos for this post until I can capture this motion.

Freeze frame

IMG_7402What i most like about this image was that the ball was going relatively fast and i was able to photograph it in a freeze frame do to the speed of the lighting. she appears to be focused on the movement of the ball creating a relation between them. Her composition is well balanced as her body is in the rule of thirds in this frame. The lighting had to be adjusted several times too cancel out some of the shadows. the shutter speed was increased and the aperture had to be closed up in order to create this image.

Freezing Motion

This is my favorite picture of our group’s images. Even though it’s abstract it is telling a story, the scarves position on the top of the photograph creates a downward motion, especially with the darker pink one going in an angle into the shot. The negative space gives the scarves somewhere to “fall”. In my opinion the freezing motion is very successful in this image, it gives it a flow. I also like the color of white and pink.

Motion Freeze Personal best

Henry Jumping

Henry Jumping

Today Assignment was a very intresting and very fun class assignment to do, we were able to capture the motion freeze with a high shutter speed  to freeze the action.I chose this Photo as my personal best, i had Henry jump up to the air and then i captured the moment.

Freezing Motion

I chose this image because I like the composition; she’s not directly in the middle but off to the side. You can also notice the collar of her shirt showing movement. To get the freezing motion for this shot we had to change the shutter speed to 1/250 and had an aperture of 8. I think the hardest part was just knowing when to shoot the image but the best way to handle it was to count off and snap the picture once she flipped her head back. It’s more going with your gut feeling rather than what you see through the lens.

I took this image and I stopped the motion of the scarf in the air. I placed her to the right which gives it the rule of thirds feel. Also the scarfs  position gives it a flow towards Jennifer it leads your eye. Her facial expression ( smiling ) and the fact that she is looking at the scarf makes it all the more personal (connection).

This image was taken by throwing the ball multiple times. Also I had to keep at it until we got this shot. Which shows me throwing the ball almost about to hit the camera. I really like this image because we were able to get the ball in the air.

This photo was taken with me jumping and bending my leg in. The ball helps set the distance between me and the ground. The scarf was to help make the expression more fun and happy.  I like this photo because of the air suspension and the happy face.
