Research Paper 2 – V.L

Love’s Baby Soft is a company from 1969–1980 that came out in 1975 with a campaign called “Innocence is sexier than you think”. A problematic set of images and a commercial let people glimpse what was socially normal to an extent for the times. An image showcasing a young girl made to cater to the male gaze while really trying to hit all the boxes for inappropriate. From props to wardrobe, it seems impossible to overlook the genuine message from the company.

She wears a festive green dress and smiles while reading her letter. In the 1910s, ads began to present women as stereotypical housewives. The cooks, mothers, and keepers of the home.

Businesses are successful who execute their advertisement efficiently in today’s competitions and thinking. Many advertisers implement a well-developed rhetorical advertisement/commercial to stick out from the competition.

An example of a slogan everyone is familiar with is “I’m Loving It” from McDonalds. The “Pop Chip” advertisement above has all three ethos, Pathos, and Logos. But the interesting fact here I am going to explore how creatively they persuade the actual message.
