• When you are reading a text, book, article or a piece try to find why, what and how the author is trying to convey his audience(you) to understand or feel a certain about his/her work.
  • “look the way a carpenter looks at a house someone else built ” When reading you need to see what technics the author used(persuasive, descriptive, narrative, expository), you can do that by the authors choice of words and how his or her story is structured.
  • Reading and annotating like this isn’t bad as I could collaborate with my classmates on the same page, it is also efficient because we can then spend more time in class talking about the piece than first throwing in our annotations in class and then going deeper
