The conventions required would be a device having internet access with which comes social understanding and critical thinking. The idea is to keep updating yourself each day with everything, in this case technology. As explained by Mary Tamayo in her digital literacy narrative ‘What digital literacy means to me’, ” In the high-tech century we are in, we need to keep up with the technologies so that we can effectively use them for the full capacity of their purposes”. Understanding the use of web browsers, search engines, email, text, wiki, blogs, photoshop, powerpoint, video creation/editing software, etc. has become extremely important nowadays to showcase learning along with handling information. Not everyone like to completely depend on the technology, just like me!! I prefer things written on paper because being on any device for too long weakens eye sight, and sometimes the technology just doesn’t support us. “It seems like every time I get used to a certain software the next big thing hits the shelves or something needs to be updated and then it takes time getting used to missing word here all over again”. This quote from Holly Engels ‘My Digital Literacy Experiences’ is so true and I completely feel the same. The last semester of my high school teachers conducted classes through google meet which was new to me, after which I was introduced to zoom and thought that my professors in the first semester of college would use these two platforms only, therefore I learned how to use them, but then came the blackboard ultra, one more technology that I was about to get in. Trust me, it was tough. That too learning all by myself.

Like many other, I too think that social media would be a great place to start DLN as it is definitely interactive, it is a platform having users on a very large scale, it can be used for both personal and professional purposes, it allows people to express themselves by sharing their stores as well as ideas, and it keeps on getting updated. Nowadays, it has become a medium through which we keep ourselves informative about surroundings.

My concern is to not miss out on anything important and have enough time to write.
