The first and most important ingredient for a DLN is a digital device that has a an online connection that can help share your ideas and connect you to other like minded people. After that its important that you keep updating your knowledge on the latest technology so that you don’t fall behind, because once you fall behind it might be too late to catch up. It’s always better to learn skills sooner than later because if you wait too long technology might get advanced and leave you so far behind that you wont even know what to do with the simplest thing. Like Holly Angel stated in her essay “I will have to either learn a whole new teaching style and adapt when I am 40 years old or the school system will simply let me and all other older teachers to get a new generation of teachers in that were trained in the new ways of life.” this tells us that technology isn’t willing to wait for us and if we don’t adapt we’ll just get left behind. This thought process is also referred in Mary Tasemo’sĀ  “What Digital Literacy Means to Me” when they state “in the high-tech century we are in, we need to keep up with the technologies so that we can effectively use them for the full capacity of their purposes.”.

A good place to start my own DNL would most likely be through main social media platforms. I would use popular platforms to share and communicate with other people. These would include platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, twitter, etc… It would make the whole transition easier to adapt to for both teachers and students.
