Disney Casting Center

8/7-8/13

The first week of Disney College Program was like the first week of freshman college all over again. People moving boxes into different doors of the apartment and making new friends through free physical labor. It was a calm waiting game as you could not visit the parks until Traditions at the end of the week, but there was very little else to do once you have finished moving in. My roommates and I took this opportunity to attend seminars on networking and leadership, just to gauge the teaching styles of Disney and make new friends. This was also the week that I’ve swam in the Vista Way pool 7 nights in a row and had time to exercise at the gym. Going through casting was like being welcomed into Greek Life with the golden Disney character statues looking over you at the waiting area. The process is actually just security protocol and brief introduction to the Walt Disney World, but they call the process casting because Disney is unique. Little could I have known, how this week would have been the calm before the storm.
