Read & React #3

Working as a manager is real hard work, it may be as much work as a boss. I have never personally shadowed a manager but I could just imagine what pressure they must be one. Everything this article speaks about is very true; there must be a certain line to everything as a manager. There is the bottom line of who is your friend and when are you allowed to be friendly with them. There also many task that a manager has to do every single day and not many people know what they are; they imagine the doing nothing but dictating to others.
This article is extremely helpful to those who are becoming managers, wanting to become mangers but mostly showing others what they do and have to go through.
Cliques and factions are the most important reason managers are not doing their job correctly because as a manager no one is your friend. You must know that no matter what happens you can not pick “sides”. I will be shadowing a Front Desk Manager really soon in the month and i hope to find new things out that I never knew before.
When I worked for my last job, my manager was not a manager. A manager is not suppose to be a boss but a leader. My manager was never the kind to help us expend ourselves and reach our potentials. Being a manager is very hard work, we all understand that the job runs because of them, partly, but they must lead their workers to do the jobs.
Hardest part is motivating, when you motivate others you make them believe in you and that everything is possible. Makes the want to work with you as well as come to you for many things.
Working hard for something is one things but getting what you want and getting it is another. You must be the best in what you do no matter what. You must be doing the same and more as you were when you were working for this position.

I haven’t seized the opportunity to shadow a manager as of yet, but I will use this assignment as an excuse to do so. I agree with you I can only imagine the amount of pressure a Manger is under on a daily basis, so much is expected from them. The article was extremely helpful. I think a lot of people jump the gun at the thought of becoming a Manager, they just assume that they can change everything the second they start. That way of thinking will only produce disappointment as they see it takes time to create notable change. Great job on this post!
