This week has been by farthest one of the longest, stressful, and busiest for me since I arrived at Florida. I was officially trained and began working on my own as a housekeeper. My first day with only 10 rooms, I finished the day an hour and a half after my time. It was stressful doing the rooms under pressure knowing that there are guests waiting to check-in. Also, it is stressful knowing that you have so many rooms to complete and you`re not even halfway done when is the middle of the day. However, I get support from my leader and coworkers and they tell me that it takes time and practice to get the speed together. Towards the middle of the week, I noticed that I was getting faster but I was also getting more rooms per day. I went from training with eight rooms to starting with ten on my own, then twelve, and next time I work I will get fourteen. Eventually, I will get seventeen rooms and I am hoping that I will be able to handle it. This is an experience that is going to make me a very strong individual by the end of this program and help me master time management. Last but not least, I ended the week by attending a wonderful welcoming event with two of my City Tech family members.
