Nervous. English is one of my favorite subjects but I always get some nerves around a new class. 

My winter vacation was very relaxing. I spent a lot of time with friends and family just catching up. I also made an effort to work on my resolutions for the year which are to spend time with myself, read more, and more general self care. I enjoy the freedom that comes with online classes but I find that it makes me less organized.

This is a picture of my grandfather that I chose because he was the most excited for me to go to college. He told all his friends and any cashier at the grocery store that would listen. He passed from covid before my first semester started so he did not get to hear about my classes but I like to think he sees how I’m doing. 

Intrigued. This is how I ready myself for a new class.

My winter vacation was definitely needed and a great reliever. I was able to go to Canada and Buffalo with some of my best friends, and some of the best memories I ever had. The main worry or concern relating to online classes is I feel my lack of motivation increases since it’s “online school”. I tend to forget about school when I don’t physically have work in front of me. But at the same time, I see it as a great opportunity to focus on school and other hobbies since it gives you a lot of leeways.

I chose this picture because this is my little brother and unfortunately he was born with some disabilities but it means a lot to me since he overcame all of it and is in a good and healthy state now.

Fresh 

Hello, my name is Ashly Calixto and my winter vacation was great actually and I’m now ready for a fresh start. I’m actually relieved this class is online because i get to stay home with my beautiful daughter and i get to do things at home like chores ( not fun lol ). I had this class last semester but since my daughter was a little more attached to me I couldn’t do work because she would try taking my laptop away from me ( she was only 9 months ). I am excited for a new beginning, however I’m scared the same thing might happen again. For my vacation I spent almost everyday at home and only ran errands occasionally. I felt great giving my daughter lots of time, I love seeing her smile every time I’m near. She is also all I talk about because she is my life now and my biggest motivation. As a young mom many people doubted me even my family but I graduated high school and I will graduate college thanks to my baby.

This is my family and i chose this picture because it means a lot to me on the left is my mother who has helped me so much with school and my baby. She has told me she will always be there to support me and she is❤️. After me there is my partner holding our baby, my partner is very inspiring because he works a whole lot. On the far right is my little sister who I hope to inspire one day. My family is very proud now because i am the first in our family to go to college. They are all a part of my motivation to try my best everyday from now on.
