Supervise a student research assistant on my original graphic novel project, Los Pirineos, the mostly true memoirs of Esperancita Gomez. (See 19.1) Through this process, they are implementing and building on production design skills learned in the classroom. They are also learning photographic research and image vetting skills.

OER Soil Mechanics Manuscript – An Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Created and implemented a new interdisciplinary STEM-COMD collaborative model for the ESP program. In this approach, codeveloped with faculty from the Construction Management Department, COMD students aid STEM faculty using their Communication Design Skills to disseminate research findings through illustration and design. They, in the process, gain job readiness skills and build their portfolio while acquiring professional publishing credits.

I supervised Emerging Scholar Julie Bradford as she interned for me on a professional graphic novel project for DC COMICS, WONDER WOMAN WARBRINGER. Julie learned comic “Flatting” skills as well as helped to develop systems for a streamlined workflow for our commercial art team.
