OER Soil Mechanics Manuscript – An Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Created and implemented a new interdisciplinary STEM-COMD collaborative model for the ESP program. In this approach, co-developed with faculty from the Construction Management Department, COMD students aid STEM faculty using their Communication Design Skills to disseminate research findings through illustration and design. They, in the process, gain job readiness skills and build their portfolio while acquiring professional publishing credits.
This project resulted in a published, fully illustrated OER textbook. It also resulted in an interdisciplinary program model, which I have successfully replicated (see TransDay of Remembrance Project). As well as a paper presented at the ASEE (American Society of Engineering Education) Annual Conference.
