For the Unit 2 annotated bibliography project, I’ve decided that I want to write about childhood obesity and its effects on children as they grow older. I’ve learned how the food industry purposely hires top researchers, including neuroscientists, to design food to make them addictive. They prepare foods with vast amounts of sugars, salts, and fats that provide people immediate and intense pleasure. I’ve also learned from my preliminary research that childhood obesity leads to deadly diseases. An obese child is most likely to develop high blood pressure and cholesterol, eventually leading to heart disease, and type 2 diabetes is another possibility.
How can an obese child return to being healthy without it being too hard on the child?
Why do parents allow their children to reach the point of obesity?
