For my discourse community writing piece, I decided to write a letter to bring awareness to the issues in my discourse community. A letter allows me to target one group of people specifically, not in a wrong way but in a helpful way. A letter helps me reach my targetted audience. I feel that teenagers that order lots of takeouts or eat lots of unhealthy foods should listen to what I have to say in the letter. My goal is to get teenagers into cooking more of their meals. Teenagers would be able to save their money by being able to use most of the ingredients more than just for one meal. And they would be able to eat healthier because they will know what’s in their food and how much of each ingredient is going into their food. Cooking your own meals can also be therapeutic for teenagers, and there are so many cuisines to learn from that they may even have a new hobby.

Class Meetings & Times: in person Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 – 5:15 PM in Namm 403
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
