Class Meetings & Times: in person Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 – 5:15 PM in Namm 403
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!

I enjoyed how candid you were on rekindled your passion for reading after taking this Intermediate English course. It was nice to hear that taking the moved you enough to go to the library and pick out books to read in your own spare time to delve into. I completely agree with what you said about the stigma institutions like public schools create around reading and how it becomes a chore and pushes the average person away from discovering the enjoyment of reading. Furthermore I think it’s interesting that you plan to use your rekindled love of books to propel you in your future academic career. An avid reader is a better writer so by that effect I’m sure you will be an even better writer of this as a result. For the final draft I’d incorporate the writing aspect of this class and expand on what you learned in regards to writing and if not at least mention how reading should make you a better writer. That way you kill two birds with one stone.
