I think it was important for them to attract people who would not ordinarily attend because the creators wanted to spark a discussion and people to talk more about Ferguson. I think the creators included people from the police force because they wanted to know the perspective of people in the police force. Watching Antigone in Ferguson did make me think more about Creon’s perspective and the citizens of the city. When I was watching Creon’s conviction in his beliefs, and his overall fate, it made me think more about his character and why he did those things. I am able to understand him a little bit better. Antigone’s words and the people’s reaction to the events made me think about the community and their attitude. It makes me wonder what they would do if they were not afraid. It was also easier to understand due to the more modern vocabulary.

Class Meetings & Times: in person Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 – 5:15 PM in Namm 403
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1:30 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
