One problem that my cooking DC community tries to make visible to outsiders is to get more people to make home-cooked meals. Ordering take-out and going out to eat is much easier than going to the grocery store, buying your groceries, and coming home to cook. However, cooking at home is much healthier for you. You’re able to know what ingredients are in your food. For example, there have been many research topics on McDonald’s food. A burger can last up to weeks without molding. But if you make a real burger at home and leave it out for a few days, you’ll see mold. This means that your homecooked burger has fewer chemicals to make the burger ‘stay fresh’ for longer and is much fresher because it’s molding.

I believe people worldwide should know about this problem because it’s better for our health. Obesity is the cause of many people’s death in the United States. To be able to buy food from Mcdonald’s is more accessible and cheaper, and that’s a real problem in America. Organic foods and healthier foods overall should be more affordable for people to buy in order to take care of their health on a budget.
