Hello! My name is Lily Yu I am in my third year at City Tech. My major is Communication Design and I want to go towards illustration. I love to draw my own character from scratch, and I also love to recreate someone else’s work in my own art style. I am okay with using Adobe programs since I have been using them for the past classes I’ve taken. I chose this class because it was required and it would also help me in the future to be able to help me with my career. My plan for the future is to be able to illustrate for people that want me to illustrate for them.

My name is Alayna, this is my third year at City Tech and I’m about 3 semesters away from finishing my bachelor’s degree in COMD. I am interested in advertising design and branding. Outside of school I enjoy using Photoshop to composite photography, while also designing logos and flyers for many of friends small brands. The Adobe programs I’ve used the most are Indesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator. My plans for the future are to continue freelancing until I get a job position at a design agency that works with multiple clients, or working for a multimedia fashion-related company.
Hi! My name is Isranoor Syed and I’m in my 6th semester at City Tech making me a junior. My major is Communication Design and concentration is Graphic Design. My Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign skills are pretty good but I’m strongest/most comfortable in InDesign. I chose to take this class because I was curious about it and wanted to learn more. My career goals are to get an internship during college, work in a design firm or advertising agency after graduating, and one day becoming a creative director or art director. One interesting thing about me (or just a big flex which ever way you see it lol) is that I have had 1-2 of my works in every student art show every semester I’ve been in City Tech which is since Fall 2018. My hobbies are reading fiction/fantasy novels, playing video games (usually jrpgs), playing guitar, and learning piano.
Hello, my name is Sally Ruan and I am currently a junior at City Tech. My interests towards this degree is Graphic Design. I like to create posters and sometimes logos. I am comfortable with Photoshop and Illustrator but I still have a lot to learn about them. I chose this class because it was required and also would help me towards my future career. My goal in the future is to graduate and work at a company that creates posters and logos for clients.
My name is N’kaya & this is my third semester at City Tech and I’m majoring in Communication Design. I took this course this semester to learn more about identity designing, I think it will help me more outside of school because I also do graphic designing outside of school as well. I’ve learned a little about Indesign, Illustration, and Photoshop while attending this school but I’m more of a drawer/ painter type of artist ( not so much a fan of drawing on computers, tablets, etc. ). I’ve been drawing since I was young and it’s something I am really passionate about. My artwork has been in many galleries and libraries since I was 12 and recently got an art award from the Metropolitan Museum. Don’t really know what I want to do after I graduate from college but I would like to continue the graphic designing industry because it may be difficult at times, I would like to stay out of my comfort zone to become a more creative talented artist.
Hi, my name is Iqra Bhatti and I am a transfer student from king’s borough. I am taking this course because it is required. It is my second semester and my major is communication design at city tech. Also, one of my art pieces has been selected for the gallery showing the event which was an impossible art piece. One interesting fact about me I am really into traveling and I hope to travel around the world in the future. I’m good at keeping my things organized. I like to finish everything on time or before it is due. My hobbies are learning new things and to get better at things that I’m good at, such as painting, sketches, and design. My goal is to succeed in all my classes and graduate on time from college. I would like to work in graphic design companies. I am really into creating my art piece. I would love to show them to my gallery one day. I have used Adobe programs before. I feel comfortable with Photoshop and illustration because I have done multiple projects before.
Hello there everyone. My name is Edwin Fernandez. I’m currently in my senior year of study here in City Tech. I am working towards a degree in graphic design, and am aiming to work in photo editing as well. I am comfortable using Indesign, although I haven’t used the program in a long time. I’m also comfortable in Illustrator, but the main program I use is Photoshop. I’m a big fan of music in general, but I do have my favorites. I learned how to play the guitar in order to create my own music as well. I look forward to learning a lot and gaining more experience, as well as building my portfolio.
My name is Jenise Roque, and I’m in my third year of City Tech, majoring in Communication Design. I am taking this course because it is required and also I thought that Identity Design was interesting when I first heard about it. In terms of my Adobe Background, I am very proficient in InDesign, and I have a little bit of experience with Illustrator. I don’t have a lot of experience working in Photoshop, however. My career goal is to hopefully have a job as an illustrator, because I really love drawing and creating art through traditional mediums, but other than that I don’t have any big plans for my future once I graduate yet. One interesting fact about me is that although I am Latina, I was never taught Spanish by my parents, which is a very big letdown!
Hello, my name is Aleexx Martinez but my original name is “Alex”. I just added two e’s and x’s because I want my name to be unique, no offense to the Alex’s. I’m a DACA recipient and was born in Mexico. I really do enjoy using Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD, and Premiere Pro. I love developing magazines or menus in InDesign, InDesign doesn’t get enough appreciation! But I’m willing to learn new techniques in the adobe software, from my professor and colleagues! My favorite hobbies are writing songs, playing the piano, and listening to music (I can’t pick a favorite artist because I love all of them. But my favorite album for 2020 is “It Was Divine” by Alina Baraz, I recommended you to listen to it.) My pronouns are he/him and I owe a rottweiler. My plan is to get an internship during college, talk with other designers and get a 9-5 job for advertisement. I’m looking forward to this class :)!
