According to statistics, during the pandemic In the US 18 to 24 year old Young Adults have considered Suicide. They point out that According to a United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) study, that surveyed 8,000 young people, more than a quarter have experienced anxiety and 15% depression. Kwai and Peltier write ” when young people move from belonging to their family too belonging to their peers,They feel empty, lonely, and that loneliness brings them into despair.” Kwai and Peltier both state reasons why the pandemic affected young adults. The quarantine made young people lose all hope for their future. Indeed they have borne much of the burden of the sacrifices being made largely to protect older people. Also, they are suffering from a gnawing sense that they are losing precious time in their prime time. Kwai and Peltier end their article by stating that some therapists are encouraging them to go outside more even if the pandemic is going on, They say that it helps combat symptoms of depression .They call upon young people to let them know that they don’t always have to show how strong they are, that the pandemic has given them the right to feel sad.
