The most frustrating stage of the research process is typing in a keyword and having 500 articles appear that are in no way related to your topic. I find the aspects of controlled tagging and controlled vocabulary (brought up by Dye and Badke respectively) are fundamental tools of research. There are obvious drawbacks including not only finding but also utilizing the correct search parameters. Regardless of the minor inconveniences, with the amount of information available on web 2.0 it is necessary to have a more uniformed way of attaining research material. The biggest hurdle to overcome is learning how to navigate these massive controlled search engines in order to obtain the most pertinent information you are searching for.
