After reading the preface and chapter 1 and 8, i have to say I’m not very excited about this book. Occasionally he has points of interest that grab my attention, but most of the time I’m just reading for the sake of the assignment. One instance that really grabbed my attention was when Badke made reference to his journey in Africa about the importance of oral traditions. However, he did make me appreciate today’s technology a lot more. I couldn’t imagine life without the printing press, more recently life without computers. For instance right now I could be writing this blog on a sheet of paper instead of typing it up and publishing it. He also has numerous grammatical errors in his book. Was his work proofread at all?
