This portrait not only shows my subject but also uses magnificent lighting. The focal point is my subject with very little in the background allowing one to focus on the center. The dark colors from the outfit contrast well with the background adding more depth to this image.
Nice job. The white balance is nice and neutral, and as you point out there is good contrast between subject and surroundings. However, the feel is a little funny of having a subject in a very light area with such a grim expression and crossed arms. This one might have been improved by a nice smile. and more open body expression, or keep the subject as is but place them in a more serious location to suit the pose.
