Tuesday, February 14 to Monday, February 20

Lessons:

  • 2.4 Part II: Nonlinear homogeneous equations
  • 2.5 Exact Equations
  • Chapter 2 “review”

OpenLabDue Monday, February 20, 11:59pm

  • Black history month profile (instructions here)
  • Two Test #1 review assignments (instructions here)

WeBWorK:

  • First Order Equations-Nonlinear Homogeneous
  • First Order Equations-Exact
    • WeBWorK entry hints:
      • Some WeBWorK questions on these sets require you to treat c as a variable instead of all possible constants. Add c as usual in your integration step, but don’t try to simplify using expressions like 2c=c or -c=c. For example, if you are sure you have the correct answer for First Order Equations-Nonlinear Homogeneous: Problem 4, try changing your +c to a -c. (These are correct, but some WeBWorK questions are not set up to handle them.)
      • Some WeBWorK questions don’t like it if you rewrite fractions with negative signs. For example, if you get a term that looks like $\frac{f(x)}{-g(x)}$ as part of a solution and you simplify it as $-\frac{f(x)}{g(x)}$, try leaving it as $\frac{f(x)}{-g(x)}$.
