Week 7: Disney Vacation Club Event

DCP: West Campus Cookies

This week, I was surprised to find that a park, which usually stays open until 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, had us leaving at 11:00 pm. It turns out that some members of Disney are renting properties from Disney, and after 50 years, it becomes the guests’ property as a timeshare. This made me question the whole event as it seemed too complicated to understand. However, they are a big community, and having them at the parks after hours was welcoming. Throughout the night, we gave them free snacks with a coupon, as well as welcoming them back home. Once the event was over, many DCP’s were working that night, and we all had fun closing the kiosks and hopping around, helping each other out. Overall, it was a great learning experience, and I learned how to handle special events, coupons, and the process. Everything was moving quickly, and we all got to enjoy time together as DCP’s and Resto cast members. From a manager’s point of view, the cast and guests were happy, and it created a welcoming experience for everyone.

Vacation Clubs (also known as time shares) are a way for regulars to prepay for their vacations as a discount. They are often transferred to the next generation of family members. Time shares are good for those who purchase them because they get perks and, like you mentioned, eventually own their share. They are good for the company because they have the guarentee that their properties will be paid for year after year.
