This week I have started to train at my second location called Amourettes Patissiere, a location as the name suggests sells pastries and some sandwiches and most of the pastries that are made here are themed to disney characters. Their staple pastry is called Mickey Mousse which is a play on words and it is only the small version of their Dome Cakes that are themed to characters. Moving on from what we serve here at Amourettes this week was a lot more people focused than it was at D-Luxe Burger here I have the chance to make connections with the customers and at the same time take their orders whereas at D-Luxe I had to keep the line moving and couldnāt really get a chance to make some small talk. My time at Amourettes has taught me the importance of Sanitation and Teamwork as Sanitation is very very very important to not only us in the hospitality industry but also very important to the cast members at Amourettes as we always make sure before we start to do something else or to start serving pastries to the customers we have to wash our hands or wear gloves and it never ever goes unnoticed by other cast members I was reminded to do these things quite often every new task always started with āPut on some glovesā or āremember to always wash your hands and sing a song for 20 seconds.ā and these are always going to be very important lessons. Teamwork at Amourettes is very important because if one of us goes down we all go down as my trainer told me, an example of this presented it self when we were in charge of setting up the crepe station and we were in the middle of the lunch rush we had started to get swarmed with customers we had noticed that the station was not set up at all it looked like the previous crepe cast member did not or forgot to set up for us so it caused us to delay making crepes and lose some customers and it really showed me that when working in a quick service restaurant it really needs all hands on deck to work.
I had a very nice time training at Amourettes and hope to get more shifts here as I want to get more hands on experience of what its like to work in a bakery.
