For my second week here, I finally got to learn where I was gonna be assigned and it turned out to be at the Tomorrow Terrace Dessert Party which heavily relies on the guest being able to watch and enjoy the fireworks every night . The dessert party is unlike other areas because we are the main kitchen for our zone and everything comes in and out of it, desserts and food for all other areas of Magic Kingdom and with that comes a very busy back of house. Throughout my first week of training out top lesson was to always announce our movements, and proper uniforms are important. Every other second you hear someone yelling “behind” or “crossing” from all parts of the kitchen but that is what prevents us from clashing into one another and allows me to to pretend for a second I’m back at school in one of the culinary or pastry labs. In this one week I have learned a total of 7 positions that are required in my assigned place and everything comes back to safety and making sure our guest are the top priority. After 5 days of training we had our assessment on the training and thankfully I passed, I am excited to see what the upcoming weeks have in store for me.
