View document MAT 1275 Solving Trig Equations: Applications - handout
Description: Following the activity Solving Trig Equations, we solve more complicated equations that come from an application to Alternating Current (AC) circuits. The numbers chosen in these formulas came from real-life examples!

View document MAT 1275 Solving Basic Trig Equations activities - Handout
Description: This is the handout for my activities in-class for solving basic sine and cosine equations. Before this students have learned that we call the coordinates of points on the unit circle either (a,b) or (first coordinate, second coordinate), so as to avoid using x as a coordinate. (This carries further into our activity for proving trig identities). They have also practiced thinking of angles (rotations) in radians without translating into degrees, and they have found important points in the unit circle by reflecting a reference triangle in QI into the other three quadrants.
