Summary:

This article talks on police brutality and racial bias that is occurring especially on African Americans. It mentions past events that have happened such as the saddening George Floyd incident. The article goes upon in depth on how Black and Latinos are targeted, it includes data from research and studies to represent different arguments on this matter.

Rhetorical Analysis:

In the article as stated, “Based on information from more than two million 911 calls in two US cities, he concluded that white officers dispatched to Black neighborhoods fired their guns five times as often as Black officers dispatched for similar calls to the same neighborhoods”. This quote is one of many statements that caught my attention on how Black is treated by Police enforcement. I think this article is a good article.  I chose this article for me to use for my research as it provides much information on police brutality and racial bias that Black must deal with. This article has data that I can use to back up my research such as the percentage of calls in which police used force involving a gun. The article includes much information from other articles or sources and studies as well which is great.

    Some things to work on:
    1. Check your citation–it doesn’t look right.
    2. The summary is too little. Your reader should be able to know from the summary what the article is about and have examples of the key information in it.
    3. Discuss the credibility of this source. Look up the publication and use that to discuss.
    4. Be more specific about why this article is valuable for your research question.
