Assumptions:
- 82 people/minute can safely pass a one-meter-wide location if unobstructed at a normal pace.
- 3.3 feet = 1 meter.
- 4 people can fit in a one-meter square box for a queue line or holding area not located in any fire egress path.
- All queue lines, fire egress gates are 3.3 feet wide or 1 meter wide.
- All final answers should be in feet.
- N=T * (A-D)
- N=number of people in the queue(After time T)
- T= Time (minutes, hours)
- A= Arrivals per unit of time (T)
- D= Departures per unit of time (T)
Part 1 Entrance Gates
- You posted an usher at the main gates to count how many people are arriving on opening day at the parking lot. She counts 250 people per minute. You have a series of front gates each is 5 feet wide.
- What is the minimum number of gates you need to have open to allow the audience to walk from their cars through the main gates with out a queue line forming?
Hints:
- 82 people/minute can safely pass a one-meter-wide location if unobstructed at a normal pace.
- 3.3 feet = 1 meter.
Answer
250 people/ (82 people/minute) = 3 meters*3.3 feet/meter= 10 feet per 100 guests is needed
250/82*3.3= 10 feet

Part 2
On Saturday a large group is renting out the park. They have requested you put up a special area out font for them to organize their guests before entering the park. They invited 60 especially abled high schoolers to enjoy the park. How much area should be available create a special area past the main gate for the high schoolers only. You need to provide 5 sq feet per person to accommodate each especially abled guest. Please define the area as a rectangle with the area dimensions defined.

A bus load of 300 guests arrives at your location. They all need to buy tickets before entering. You have time to set up a queue line at the box office before the group exit the bus. We are allowing 4 people/3.3 feet stand in the queue. The queue line path width will be 3.3 feet. How long does the queue need to be to fit the 300 guests?
