Hands

What I liked the most about Omar’s photo was the sense of movement and I felt I could relate to the photo. I’ve had the urge to grab my Nintendo Switch after a day of school or work and just block out the rest of the world while I play. After the pandemic quarantined us all at home, we were left to find ways to entertain ourselves at home and this picture represents exactly what I’ve done for a large portion of my Spring and Summer of 2020.

In Oneil’s photo, I was intrigued by the use of red lighting and the diagonal direction of the subject. It brought upon the feeling of mystery and curiosity that kept me wanting to know more. I tried to use red light and mix different perspectives of the subject facing a similar direction.

In Jamir’s photo, I was focused on the light direction and the shadow projecting from the hand. I thought that the multiple sources of light from the top helped create different but unique shadows. I tried to use a light source that would help get similar results.

HANDS

I focused on blurring motion with my hand, and applying a black and white filter to my image. Andrew focused on applying a strong fluorescent light to his hand. Our photos ended up being actually kind of similar, as they both were shot against black backgrounds.
