The Grid and Design Heroes Presentation.

Specifically: Each participant presents their Design Hero.

  • Practice your presentation so it flows properly and the layout looks good.

Preparation 

  • For next session: Have your presentation organized and ready to present. The presentation should last only 5 – 7 minutes and allow for questions. Those presenting next Wednesday should participate with questions and comments.

Session 1

  • The Grid. Principles of content organization on the grid are explained. In class, students organize blocks of color into a grid which they have also designed.

Homework

  • Photograph a flat image as squarely as possible. Import it to the computer and, using guidelines, see if you can find the grid to which the poster adheres.

Session 2 –Design Heroes Presentation

  • Everyone who is scheduled to present, presents their work. Those who cannot attend, make a time-recording of the presentation and send to the class. Classmates can post questions or comments to the presentation. 

Homework

  • Using the specifications of the assigned poster, design a grid for your Design Heroes poster; alternately, block out areas for type.
  • Determine which fonts you will use, make a style sheet. See Bb Week 11.
