Below, all the great stories that students came up with.
Read all the screenplays and watch the incredible videos. Everyone needs to comment at the bottom of the post.
As we saw on the video about The Art of Storytelling, giving feedback is part of the process. Your comments have to be constructive and develop ideas. Suggest adjustments if you see something that could be added or tweaked that could help make the story better. This is part of your participation grades. You need to write at least a comment on 2 different stories.

VoiceOver: The beginning of life is like a plain white paper. But when we meet different people or things in our lives, these people and things will become different colors to fill the blank paper of our lives. And those colors made me who I am today.
This VoiceOver will run through scene 2 and 3, and connect to the previous.
SCENE 4
Action: a series of photos fall down from the right or left orderly. The first one is about the family, the second one is about friendship, the third one is about love. When the character absorbed the first photo, his face will emerge a smiling face. Similarly, when the character absorbed the next second and third photos, he will start to appear more detail in his body.
During the photo falling, I will zoom in and create a pause effect to the photo to let the viewer see the detail inside of each photo.
VoiceOver: So, here are the three most important elements that create my life.

VoiceOver: my family
Action: second photo zoom in

SCENE 5
Action: After the character absorbs all the photos, he becomes complete. He put down his hand from the knee to the side on the ground. And then, I will make a zoom-in effect in his eye until the scene turns to all black.
SCENE 6
Action: the black scene will start to emerge the ending graphic and the information about the music I have used in my video.
Here is an example of what you can write about other students pitches.
Idea for #6. Jasmin Hernandez’s video, The Multiple âMeâsâ that make Me:
I like that she repeats the same idea twice. When the camera is showing the things around her, that represent who she is, and ending on her face. Itâs a great way to describe her personality. Maybe each scene should have something similar, with the camera going around and always ending on Jasmin’s smiling face.
#13 Eric Sukhdeo – I like how its simple and gets to the point, he shows the point of students being disengaged online compared to being productive in a real classroom
Absolutely! But what I appreciate the most is Eric’s sense of humor. This pitch cracked me up so much. I can’t wait to see the video and have a laugh at it.
#1 Eddie Altamirano – i like vlog style- like videos of people doing things and its relatable
Okay, but I think stories that have a little twist in it are somewhat more interesting.
Like Israel Martinez (#8) in “Me, Myself And I”, making fun of himself in the scene. By using humor, he describes himself as someone with a good self critical sense and appearing at the end very smart and charming.
Or like Yessica Ramirez (#10) in “Doubts ” showing a reflection about herself being over perfectionist.
Or Kiyana Stoutt (#13) in “The Happy Stage” reflecting on the happy moments in her life.

#1 Eddie Altamirano’s video: I myself am a minimalist so I like how simple this is, for Scene 1 would suggest using an external light to create your silhouette, to have a better outcome.
Okay, Eddie’s pitch has good potential. You can read my thoughts on Eddie’s pitch in my reply to Rahel Lehar’s comment.
For lighting you can also use the sun, which gives for me the best light ever. If you place yourself with the sun behind you and the camera in front (first the camera, second you, third the sun) you’ll be filming against the light You will able to have a nice silhouette then. See the link below for more details.
#10 Yessica Remirez’s pitch: while reading it I felt like I could relate a lot and I think there are plenty of people who would think the same. In this way I think by expressing these emotions Yessica’s audience will enjoy this video. I think it is quite realistic in the way it ends with “Well, I am tired now” because that expresses the reality of things. I would’nt change anything I like the way it plays out, great work Yessica.
Yes Yessica self reflection is really good, she’s showing us how being a perfectionist can actually be tiring. As a spectator, I appreciate that she exposes this side of her personality, it makes us relate to her struggles and feel for her. By doing this she’s gaining our sympathy and becomes a true winner at the end.
16. Who Made Me Who I Am Today By Zhigang Wen: I like how the video is family oriented and how it shows photos of important events in the creators life shaping them into the person we see today.
I love Zhi’s interpretation with all the images going inside his body to shape who he’s. It’s a beautiful metaphor.
#14 Title: “What Students Really Do During Online Class” By Eric Sukhdeo
I really like how Sukhdeo uses his funny idea to reflect the different situation between an online class and an in-person class. When I read Sukhdeo’s pitch, it just like I’m reading my story; Is a hiding-camera placed in somewhere in my room?Haha
YES! We all love Eric’s story because we relate to it. Everyone was in the same situation at one point. And using sense of humor is the best way to get people’s approval. So far it looks like that his pitch is everybody’s favorite.
15. TITLE: “My story” By YiQiang Wang
The voiceover in the beginning “I like stories, everyone’s stories, I just don’t like my story.” grabs my attention, give me a feeling of there is a meaningful story behind this voiceover. And then, when I scroll down to keep reading YiQiang’s pitch, what I thought at first is correct.
Yes, YiQiang knows how to captivate our attention, we can’t help to be moved by his story. I can’t wait to see his animation.
#9 Journal Mahir I really like this pitch it is very simple but gives a lot information as well. I like how each location and view that is going to be shown shows different stages in his life. I like how you end it with describing what you see in your future. I would like to know what type of music will be used. What mood are you setting? For me when I imagine it I get a very calm feeling.
yes, Mahir’s video is all about his filming and the atmosphere he’s going to create. The story is simple enough to leave room to great images. I hope he’s going to succeed.
#14 âWhat Students Really Do During Online Classâ. I like how this is something we can all relate too. Probably every college student is dealing with this right now. You give us a description of who are are by showing your day to day activities. It is not too detailed but it is broad. Also I really like the ending because I can also relate to it since I myself have dozed off and woke up to being the only one left in the meeting oops!
We all did! That’s why Eric’s video is brilliant. Everyone can relate to it. Making fun of yourself proves a great sense of humor and a good analyze of yourself. I love this pitch.
# 2 Jennifer’s World- I like how simple and minimalistic this concept is while also being information on what your favorite places and things are. I think the video will come out cool your your different scene ideas.
Yes, and her dog used as the common thread is a great idea.
#8 Journal- I love day in my life videos. This pitch seems to have a complete and interesting follow a day in her life. I think the idea of having subtitles instead of a voiceover or a narrator working really well with this idea. The pitch sketch makes it easy to understand how you plan on executing your idea. Great Pitch!
I believe you’re talking about #3 Journal By Mia Calixto.
Mia’s story is visually very well put together. I love that she includes the sound of the subway, makes it into something positive and actually beautiful. Her storyboard (that’s how you call a pitch sketch, if you watched the video about storyboard) is brilliant, it helps us see how she’s going to develop her ideas. Her last scene with her smiling face laying on the grass is so wonderful.
4. CHANTAL by Chantal Gomez: I think Chantal’s is very creative in showing the world through her eye in a day. It allows us to get a sense of who she is as a person and it also allows us to see different sides of her through different activities.
And I love when she says “ssshhh!” It’s like she’s share her secret with us.
#14. TITLE: âWhat Students Really Do During Online Classâ
By Eric sukhdeo – I like this pitch because it’s so real that it resonates with us and reminds us of our online class.
YES! And it’s hilarious.
7. TITLE: Vision By Aiah Kassim
I like how you are going to make the video personal, and describe your inspirations and mention your work so we can learn more about you.
And how she’s using a slideshow to show her work, with no video, smart and simple.
7. Vision By Aiah Kassim
I love the transitions between each of her clips and the music
15. TITLE: âWhat Students Really Do During Online Classâ
By Eric Sukhdeo
I can’t stop laughing, all the scenarios are completely related
My favorite line is when the teacher says “my wife and i are getting a divorce”. I love the lip sync singing in the shower and the music at the end which makes it a meme
#14 âWhat Students Really Do During Online Classâ. I absolutely love Eric’s choice of comedy while describing an online learning environment. The comedic effect showcases relatability and I found myself truly invested and actually having a laugh while watching it, a bit exaggerated but it was to the point and funny as hell.
5. TITLE: CHAPTER By Dereck Henriquez
I really like the way Henriquez make his video, it gives me a sense of energetic.
15. TITLE: âWhat Students Really Do During Online Classâ By Eric Sukhdeo
When I see the moment which Sukhdeo was singing in the shower, that makes me laugh. The video is as interesting as his pitch says.
#9. TITLE: Me, Myself And I by Israel Martinez
I really liked his video, it’s so simple and straight forward with telling who he is. From the video I saw things that I can relate and we have things in common. And it gave me a feeling that if we had actaul class, we would have probably been friends.
I know! I love Izzy’s vide, really cool and sweet. It cracks me up how he used the bathtub as a reference to Billie Eilish’s video
What a nice compliment to say that you would have been friends! I get it. I am sure Izzy would agree.
15. TITLE: âWhat Students Really Do During Online Classâ By Eric Sukhdeo
I bursted out laughing when the professor said, “That’s why my wife and I or getting a divoser now.” That video was very funny and even tho the main topic wasn’t about you, I got to see who you are and how funny you are.

I really think that we can see Eric’s personality in this video, the guy has a great sense of humor, that’s says a lot. Ahahahah!

I love Mias video Journal. I love the aesthetic and I think she did great with the music choice as well. The video gives me a calming feel. Also great artwork!
