The ted talk “The danger of a single story” talks about the impact of stories on your perspective. The most important thing that I obtained through this ted talk is the power of another persons word and how it influences our own perspective. It could be something you mom told you or something you read in a book, you begin to realize that these influence impact your own perspective. However, this one perspective that your obaining dosent always prove relablie leading to the “danger of single story”. A example of this can be seen in stereotypes or one-sided opinions that the speaker points out in her ted talk where her college roomate was shocked to learn that english is the primary language in nigeria.

Overal, getting information from just one single sorce is an unreliable and dangerous thing because you want to be open minded to new information and learn more about other places, people, and things.
