From what I’ve seen the ingredients of the education narrative genre are about the main idea of a character and there there may sometimes be a conflict with that character or something that involves them. I’m not to sure where I would start since I’m not that good at making my own story from scratch. Something that would be concerning to me is picking something that’s interesting in my life to write about but I don’t really know which one to go with.
About
ENG 1101 is about you getting more comfortable with your own process. You’ll look at tools and ideas about how language is used to communicate and persuade and even exclude. And you’ll be introduced to concepts like transfer, genre, and metacognition.
ANDΒ as part of the Write Out Loud! Learning Community, you’ll also be writing your own TEDTalk that you’ll present in COMM1330
I’m Jackie Blain, and you can find me on our Slack workspace or via email DBlain@citytech.cuny.edu.

You have way more stories than you think you do. Sit some place quiet (or with your headphones on), and let your mind wander over what school was like for you. What was hard, or easy. Who you liked or hated as a teacher, and why. Or, if not about school, then what did you learn from friends or family that has stuck with you? Or even changed the way you see things? Nothing’s out of bounds for this. Just let the ideas wander past, and grab one. If it doesn’t work, you at least know you’ve got a bunch! (which btw you do!!!)
