In the article, “Navigating the perfect storm” I totally agree with the fact that Ellen C. Carillo’s said about the student that they really doesn’t care about why something is written because in nowadays what happening is that people are not understanding how important is it.  Mostly what we are doing, is just following the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) because we are getting graded base on that work. In this days we are just trying to submit the work as quick as possible without even understanding the actual meaning behind it. In the past, I usually read not for meaning but for the context and just write about it. Moreover,  when I found out that I was not getting good grades because of not understanding and just trying to finish it. So than I realize how important is to read and understand the meaning.

I believe Google knowledge and understanding are completely different things. However, I think both of them are very helpful because it help us to understand more quickly and give us an great explanation.  Sometime reading thoroughly can put us in confusion. So that’s why having google knowledge is important because it’s helps us to get the meaning of it. However, when people don’t use there mind and just focused on internet then it’s a problem because people don’t have confident on there thinking skills and copy everything from google. In nowadays everyone try to get the answer from google and type it but we should first try to understand the meaning of the article. After that if we can’t understand than we can translate it, still if can’t understand than we can use the google just to understand but not to copy.

I believe writing the summary after some line is very helpful because it’s helps us to remember staff at the end. Furthermore, doing annotation is also a great strategies to understand the reading more thoughtfully.  I’ve been doing this from my middle school and it’s makes it very to easy remember.
