The issue that I would like to address is the ethical problems within the computing industry specifically the issue of surveillance of consumers.

I would like to show young people that giant tech corporations often know more about you than you think, and people often do not know what happens to their private information and what rights they give up to these corporations just by simply using everyday technology such as social media.

This story follows a young man named John, his parents did not have much to provide financially but they worked very hard and loved John unconditionally. John did well in school from a young age and by high school he was one of the most intelligent and well spoken students in his school, he wanted to pursue great things but his father suddenly becomes ill and was dying. He had to quit school and go work two jobs and gave up his dreams just to see his father live another day. He worked so long and so hard but one day he was on his way to work and he saw one of his idols in the tech world Danny, he wanted to be just like him because he also came from poverty but through his highly successful social media app he has become one of the wealthiest men in the world.  He approached him and told him he looked up to him and he was a great inspiration and John began telling him about his situation and how he decided to quit school. Danny felt bad for him because he related to what John was going through and he offered him a job at his company. John was shocked and he had a huge smile because he could now pursue his passion and change the world with his ideas and also save his dad. After a few months of working closely with Danny, John had learned so much from him and eventually Danny trusted John. Since Danny trusted John he let him in on a secret. He took John to a private area of his companies office and began telling him that he had signed a deal with the government, Danny would get payed heaps of money in exchange for his users personal information, 24/7 access to their private conversations, and his users location. For the first time ever John had seen the different side of Danny, he had finally revealed his true colors. John realized that he was nothing like Danny, John wanted to positively impact the world with technology and make it a better place but Danny was a greedy and selfish person who had no morals and was willing to abuse his users trust in his company and compromise their privacy all for money. Danny told him he wanted him to run this surveillance operation for his company because he believed John was the one person he could trust and relate to. John was shocked to hear this but when he heard how much he could make he began to consider actually compromising what he stood for, after all he had never had that much money in his life and remembers all the problems having no money caused him and his family. John needs time to think and goes to his father for guidance but it is too late as he has passed away. John is now in a depressive state but he still has to make a very important decision to make and the worlds privacy and rights are at stake.
