Internship Search and Interviews

Landing an Internship isn’t an easy task. You get anxious when you don’t hear back and it’s just a stressful process. Luckily, I didn’t have to stress too much and landed an internship in a few days amount of time. The first placed I looked for internships was the City Tech OpenLab Internship site. I saw two internships that I thought would be a nice fit for me so, I applied to both of them and sent in my portfolio and resume. I was surprised to see a response via email from the first job I applied to the next morning. I was excited and replied as soon as I could and we set a date for an interview. The very next day I heard back from the second job I applied to as well and I was tad bit more excited for this one if I’m being honest. So, I went ahead and scheduled an interview for the internship. I was nervous for the interviews because I wanted to do good and land the internship even though I didn’t set any expectations since they were the first internships I applied to.

So the day of the interview comes (first job) and it’s a zoom interview because of certain Covid-19 restrictions. I did the interview and it went quite well and the lady who took my interview told me that she liked me and wanted to work with me towards the end of the interview. I was happy because I wasn’t expecting that and I let her know that I will get back to her about her offer  since I still wanted to give my second interview in case I get accepted for that one. The second interview was longer and more important since the company was bigger. It went well and after the interview I got an email from them with an offer and I was happy because I originally wanted this job so I didn’t think twice and accepted their offer and that is how I landed my first internship.
