How to design an enduring logo: Lessons from IBM and Paul Rand

This week I read an article called “How to design an enduring logo: Lessons from IBM and Paul Rand”. In this article, I learned that I should always think beyond the page. A logo is not just about the aesthetics in mind. I should also make sure it works on different applications. When I present my logo, I should also show the versatility of the logo. I really like what Thomas J. Watson, Jr said, “good design is good business.” A good design makes a strong first impression. It also helps the business stands out from many of the similar business. A good design can promote the brand consistently. It makes the brand memorable. I also learned that a good logo will not be easily affected by the times. The IBM logo has been created for so many years and it still looks special and effective.
