Reflection Seven

I didn’t make it to class last week, so I asked my classmate about the presentation by Maryam Zafar. I heard that she is a very positive woman. She said that there was a period of time she has no clients at all. She even had to work for free in order to get more experience. But she never gave up. This has inspired me a lot. I always afraid that I won’t have any clients or have no incomes.  From Maryam Zafar, I learned that I should catch every opportunity. Even sometimes take the risks. And I should always have an unbreakable faith.

Maryam Zafar said that it is ok to work for free. It will benefit us in the future. I totally agree that, especially when we are students. I am having a part-time job in a sign company now. They didn’t even offer me an “ok” salary. But I still keep staying there, because I can get experience from there. Maryam Zafar also said that we should enjoy the works we are doing and keep perfecting them.

Maryam Zafar mentioned that we should always stay curious. We should always keep an open mind to the new things. We can also try to do things that we never did. We can always move the elements around before submitting the works. There might be a surprise waiting.

What impressive me the most is that she said never doubt about ourselves is the key to success. I often doubt about myself. Sometimes when people don’t understand my works, I would doubt myself. It feels very bad. It makes me to be discouraged. I learned that we can learn from our mistakes but just don’t always doubt about ourselves.

Maryam Zafar also said that we can go a litter crazy with our resume. That can show our uniqueness and also can get the company’s attention. I agree with that. Being unique is always what I am trying to do.
